About us

We are Marianne Jacobs and Raphaël de Pitteurs, a couple with a passion for language. We both studied at the Higher Institute for Translators and Interpreters which has become the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Antwerp.

 

Marianne grew up in a printing business, worked on a Flemish-Dutch dictionary in 2003, translated a famous Belgian writer’s work into English to sell the rights abroad and wrote articles for the Feeling Weekend Guide for several years.
Since she is an eternal student and considers continuing education important, she also graduated cum laude at UGent in June 2023 as a sworn translator English-Italian-Dutch.
We are therefore recognised members of the BBVT, the professional association for sworn translators and interpreters.

Raphaël completed his first professional translation while still at university at the request of one of his professors.

 

As you can tell we are not a huge translation business in which you are just another number. Personal contact and a relationship built on trust are highly important to us.
